Jesus suffered! Plain and simple.
I didn't want today to be like just any other day. So, I decided to surf the net for something that would jerk me out of the routine that Good Friday was just another holiday on the calendar. I wanted to remind myself of the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus. The movie, The Passion by Mel Gibson, was perhaps the most intense and the most powerful description of crucifixion that has ever been told. I needed a remind as raw as The Passion. Be reminded of the death of our Lord Jesus. And let the images that flood your mind bring a salient decision to live a life that is worthy of the sacrifice that is Christ's Crucifixion. Amen.
The following verse appears to be an understated summary about Jesus' suffering if we fail to go the extra mile and treasure hunt what the crucifixion truly entailed.
Mark 15:15 Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged and handed him over to be crucified.
