Develop childlike faith in God the Father

I have a testimony to share. It is my prayer that as you read this testimony, your heart would be encourage to trust God and stirred up to lean upon His precious promises. When God told me this was a month of (Miracles, Healing & Speed!!), I took the word hook line and sinker and ran with it. It is called having a childlike heart. That is how I like to describe my walk with God. I believe everything He says  whilst gazing upon His face with wide-eyed-mystified-wonder! I honestly think He wants us all to be like that. Didn’t He say in His word, unless we are like one of these little children, we cannot enter the kingdom of God? God expects us to have childlike faith in Him and in His Word.

On the 31st of January I spoke about 5 things I was thankful for. One of them was my new MacBook computer. I didn’t give details then. I would now. After not having a computer to work with for a while, I got frustrated and decided that I would walk into my boss’ office and request a loan to get a windows computer. The reason being that a windows computer doesn’t cost so much and the loan would be approved quickly. I nursed the idea for a couple of days. It felt good. I would get to have a device to work with…at least. I would also get to write more often. But each time I thought of my ebooks, and other materials I had stored away in a hard drive, and how most of these files were saved in formats that were only accessible on a MacBook, my heart would sink. Then one day, I heard clearly in my spirit: “So, you are settling for a windows computer because you cannot afford it and for that reason, you think God cannot afford a MacBook?”

It was a ridiculous presumption but that was the state of my heart. Whenever I went online to look up MacBooks my heart would skip beats at the prices they were going for. I never truly purchased my first MacBook myself. I had done work for a visiting BBC producer in 2010. I didn’t have a computer. He thought it was absurd. So, he said to me, “after this production, I will like you to produce three short pieces for me, which I would give to the BBC. If you do this, instead of paying you cash, I will buy you a MacBook on my return.” I thought it was a good deal. So, I produced the three shows and it was a success. When he returned in September 2010, he presented me with my first ever personal computer — a MacBook snow leopard.

Now, here I was almost 8 years after — the snow leopard is gone, and with the current foreign exchange, which has hiked up prices of MacBooks so much that it was impossible for me to just go out there and purchase one. The snow leopard was gotten for 230k. Today, the least you can get a MacBook Pro, depending on the spec is double that amount. But on this gracious day, after I heard that thought in my spirit, I said to my husband, I’m no longer going to settle for a windows computer. I want a MacBook. We prayed. I asked God to show me how to get it. The first impression I had on my heart was to ask for a loan still. So, I put in the request. My boss yelped, he was like, I don’t have that kind of money. Then he says, well, if you can get a dealer who would give it to you at half the price, then you can get half the amount for now and pay up later. I agreed. The following day we found a dealer who was willing to part with the merchandise for less than half the price. As I was given 200k as part of the loan. It was going for 440k. 450k for paying twice. For me that was a miracle! I didn’t think it would have been easy to find such a dealer. And soon too! I got my MacBook exactly 16 days after I decided that God was not broke and could afford one.

But God wasn’t done with me yet. The deal was that a chunk of my salary would be deducted monthly until the loan was paid off. Deductions were meant to begin as soon as I received the full loan. Then on Friday last week, 9th February, my boss had a meting with his core staff — we are four in number. And there he announces that I would get the remaining sum to pay off my computer but I shouldn’t worry about the deductions, I wouldn’t have to pay back the loan!! He then goes on to say he would also buy brand new computers for my other three colleagues. He talked about quite a bit in the same breath. But all the while, I sat there in awe of God…just thinking to myself…”What just happened here???” If this isn't a miracle, I don't know what is.

… to be continued.

Luke 18:17 Truly, I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom like a little child will never enter it?
