Keep your heart pure at all times. Forgive, let go, forget. Try to forget. I know that part can be difficult. Also be thankful. Be thankful in tribulation and in trial. Be thankful because you will overcome. Be at peace with all men. Be joyful. Be joyful always because you have the victory. Don’t dwell on the harm brought your way. Don’t nurse the pain they have caused you. Don’t hold a grudge. Stop fighting the wind.
Once, I worked in an organisation where I was being picked upon. The department head felt threatened by me and so would constantly antagonise me. At some point he stopped receiving my reports and stopped answering my questions, requests or hearing my suggestions. He would send me to my colleague. My colleague and I did the same job for the organisation. We were on the same level carrying out same duties for the same department and earning equal pay. But our department head, by way of slighting me and punishing me for no just cause, made me report to my colleague. I was to take all my request to her and take orders from her as well.
This went on for many months, I don’t know how I did it but I know the only reason why I survived that phase was because as much as possible, I kept the poison out of my heart. I wasn’t pleased but I wasn’t bitter. And every morning I got to work, I prayed to God to lighten the weight and grant me favour. It was a mean situation inflicted upon me by mean people but I never let them win. I forgave. I let go. And I forgot. Yes, that part was difficult — forgetting.
You too can do same.
Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
