Never put God in a box...

Our relationship with God should be a daily walk not a seasonal bargain. We should relate with God as He speaks to us daily and not by hanging on to past experiences. God brought the Israelites out of Egypt but His plan didn’t end in the desert. When He gave them water from a rock, it was for a season, He was leading them to a place where they would drink from wells they never dug. When He gave them manna it was for a season and for a phase, He was leading them to where they would feed off gardens they never planted.

Follow where He leads

Never hold on to miracles of yesterdays. Wait on the Lord for He has said, “Behold I will do a new thing…”

The danger in holding on to the victories of yesterdays is this, we become blind to what God is doing today. Our ears become dull so we do not hear what He is saying to us today. Soon, we become victims of what was once a blessing because we fail to realize that that blessing ceases to be a blessing once it loses its God factor.

Back in the wilderness, when the cloud moved, the Israelites moved. Moses followed were the glory led. We must follow where He leads and not remain where He’s been.

Presently, I am sensing shifts taking place in my life and I am not going to sabotage the process by holding on to something God provided. If God is moving then I must move with Him and trust Him to provide what I would need where He is taking me.

And trust here means I must be ready to leave behind the miracle of yesterday. So that I can receive the miracle for today. But I will have to follow first!

Our God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of the ‘dependent on God’. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob lived life leaning on God, depending on God, trusting Him step by step, day after day, even when it made no sense.

He is the same God today. Trust Him. Follow where He leads (you), do not hang on to where He’s been.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.
