Wow. Today, Time closes its curtains on January and by midnight the curtains will swing open again to reveal the beautiful month of February. And life goes on… there are no dull moments on this stage called life, and each one of us actors has a role to play!

So, it’s goodbye January (and welcome February!) — time to take stock! You go first. Grab a pen and paper and list 5 things you’re thankful for this month. You may think 5 is a lot but if you begin to list them, you will find that you might just get to 10. I think it is important that we begin the year with a good attitude.

Yesterday, early in the morning, I decided to give thanks because the night before, I was reminded by my husband how good the Lord has been to us in just January alone! We began to name them and the list just kept growing… Our God is an awesome God!

I will like to employ you to do likewise. Give thanks. For He is faithful. I will like to share my list of 5 with you:

  1. I successfully floated a campaign for the ministry where I work in Bayelsa state, on the 5th of January, after a rather gruesome and trying incubating season in December. I had oppositions thick as the walls of Jericho but I broke through.

  2. In December, I suffered a backlash from someone who I had brought close, my personal assistant. In November, I had mixed feelings after hiring him, so, when this happened, and his true nature was uncovered, and with his own hands decided to spoil a good thing, I realized that I finally had the answers I sought. I was glad to cut him loose. About two weeks into the new year, my boss sends me a young man with clear directives, “He would be working directly with you… interview him and induct him…” It took my husband’s insight before I realized that I had just been given a new assistant. What’s more, I don’t have to pay him. He was hired by the ministry. And what a talented young man he is; a budding writer and researcher. He’s got just the skill set I need.

  3. In December, I battled all kinds of resistance in my work place, in January the Lord helped me to break through the dark clouds and rise above the raging seas. He stilled my troubled mind and gave me peace. I rose above the oppositions.

  4. A the beginning of the new year, my husband and I were able to fund a major project that was vital to our future and our growth together as a family.

  5. In March of 2017, my MacBook charger burnt. I was unable to replace it for many months. Finally, in September, I found a compatible charge and after the computer came on, I discovered it had developed a fault. By November, I was forced to rid of it and put it up for sale. Writing became difficult for me because I had to share my husband’s computer (and that wasn't easy because of his beehive schedule!). I was so frustrated, I could have died, LOL. At a point I was going to settle for a windows computer (which I absolutely do not fancy!!) then with shaky faith, I began to trust God for a brand new MacBook. (The prices obtainable were frightening!!!) Well, as I speak to you, (or rather write to you) on the 29th January, I received my brand new MacBook, 2017— the latest design. Manufactured (or assembled) November, 2017 precisely! In the very same month I gave away my old MacBook. I find that quite heartwarming! God is mindful of me.

Today, is the 31st January, and I am expectant still. That before the curtains close on January, I will yet receive another miracle. Miracles are a sign that God keeps His promises. And He will yet keep His promise to you because He is the Promise Keeper. Watch out for February! It is going to be awe-filled. Or should I say, watch out, February! Because February is going to be amazingly surprised by the awe we would bring her way.

Deuteronomy 7:9

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments. — NIV
