“Where He goes, I will go…” So goes the bridal song of old. But doesn’t it quite describe our journey with God, 'that where He goes, we will go…'?

Welcome to November guys. This month let your heart desire be to surrender all in obedience to Christ. Just like Paul. For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles- Ephesians 3:1

Hello!

Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God Romans 1:1

Paul had very interesting ways of describing his relationship with Christ. Ways that have probably scared a ton of us out of our skins. Paul would say, I am crucified with Christ, or I, Paul, a bondservant of Christ Jesus, or I, Paul, a servant in chains… Paul constantly boasted about his chains and his sufferings and how they were his medals for being a Christian.

It is not so today. We boast in prosperity and in our comfort zones. We forget that the scriptures teach us that when we suffer, we should take comfort in the fact that Christ suffered too. It doesn’t categorically say that because Christ suffered, we will NOT suffer. Rather, it says that because He suffered, we can be comforted in our suffering.

Today, I encourage us to hold on a little longer in that state of debasement; of being ridiculed, of being disregarded, of being mistreated etc. It comes with the price for following Christ.

Our journey into God is a journey to captivity. Of total surrender. Of losing ourselves into Him. Whilst receiving comfort in our sufferings.

Because He too suffered. And because He overcame, we TOO would overcome.

Hebrews 2:18 Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.

Hebrew 4:15-16  4 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Selah

…to be continued.
