My heart is full of joy this morning. As I sat down here to begin writing to you, I saw that I had a mail in my 'More Abundant Life inbox and quickly read it before typing away. I was happy to see who it was from. And even happier to read its contents. Here is the one line (or lines) that stood out for me: “I will love to be part of God’s work, I want to work for God, I want Him to use me, I want to dedicate all of my life to Him. Most especially I want to be close to God and also hear God…” What joy filled my heart to know that my daily meditations as I write have not gone in vain. If that email remains the only response I hear all year, then my work here is done. Like my brother, Apostle Paul would say, “I thank my God every time I remember you… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Paul’s letters to the churches were letters of encouragement, sometimes chastisement, other times reminders but mostly about grace and peace from Christ Jesus. And it is our responsibility as fellow servants in Christ to continue this culture of letter writing; using words filled with grace, peace, hope, and love for the building up of our faith together in Christ Jesus. So my dear friends, today I greet you with Grace and Peace from our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. That you will remember to encourage one another today with graceful and hopeful words. Amen.
Philippians 1:1-2 We, Paul and Timothy, are writing this letter. We serve Christ Jesus. We are sending this letter to you, all of God’s people in Philippi. You belong to Christ Jesus. We are also sending this letter to your leaders and deacons. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. — NIRV
