Obedience delivers
This morning my husband shared his meditations (on a certain scripture) with me over WhatsApp. I'm going to copy and paste it here for us to partake of. Be blessed as you read.
I just understood the text of scripture about working out our salvation as putting action to our faith & seeing result. The salvation we need from snares of debt, lack, want, poverty is in giving our first fruits, tithes and offerings, caring for the poor, the fatherless, the defenseless etc as commanded. But if we don’t work it out ourselves by acting on that word, we would be in bondage of it still.
I believe strongly that every time we add action to a word God gives us or a command from the bible, we are accessing a salvation — a lifeline, a deliverance, a preservation, a means of escape!
Most times if we just understood God we won’t be in certain dilemmas. Our all knowing proactive God, often creates a solution before a need arises. He stirs us to a word in season. But we hesitate; we don't obey (i.e. act on the word). Not realizing that what He has handed us is a deliverance, a salvation!
1) This year may we become more conscious of words or commands He leads to.
2) We will act promptly.
For He leads us to Salvation even before problem arises.
Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. — Kenny Omodara
I hope this blessed you. In this month of Miracles, Healing and Speed, engage God's Word by acting. Obey! Faith without works is dead. Like the message version puts it: The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse. Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse. James 2:26. The Message. Selah!
