Two days earlier, in the early hours of September the 4th, [exactly 7days left for us at Church to conclude our 40 days fasting] and as I struggled to sleep, I heard these word – Shiva. I got up and researched it.
I knew the moment I heard it that it was a Hebrew word. And rightly so; it is a Hebrew word that means Seven; a week-long (7 days) Jewish mourning period following the burial of a member of a nuclear family.
Spiritually, mourning for us indicates fasting, and it was exactly 7 days to the close of our 40 days journey. And I heard the Lord saying to us Shiva.
I didn’t quite know what the Lord would have us do, so I waited on Him some more for clarity. And to the glory of God, light and understanding came two days after, in the early hours of September 6th.
BOKER TOV I woke up to keep my watch and as soon as my eyes popped open I heard these words ‘Boker Tov!’
I smiled. At once I began praying and as I pressed in the Spirit and in my understanding, the Word of the Lord came to me via utterance:
“The One Who Awakens!”
The Lord is The One Who Awakens, Hallelujah! As I pressed into that word, two scriptures came to me:
Ezekiel 37; Like Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones, the Lord said to Ezekiel, ‘Son of man, can these dry bones live?’ Ezekiel said, ‘Thou knowest!’ Why? Because the Lord is The One Who Awakens.
John 11; When Lazarus died, Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Our friend Lazarus sleeps…” Why? Because He is The One Who Awakens!
The hardened sinner suddenly turns around, repents and devotes his life to God – WHY? Because it is The Lord Who Awakens! The Lord is revealing Himself as The One Who Awakens! And for that reason He is saying to us “BOKER TOV”, for the very moment that we awaken becomes our morning!
He is saying BOKER TOV because He is awakening many. He awakens them as those awakened from the dead. He says unto us like He said unto Lazarus COME FORTH! Because He is The One Who Awakens!
There is hope for that hardened sinner, that stony hearted believer, that lost nation; we can now ask for the harvest and place a demand NOW for that soul, for The One Who Awakens is awakening many as those awakened from the dead. He is saying to us, ‘Son of man, can these dry bones live again?’ He is asking us because He is The One Who Awakens!
Now as it relates to SHIVA After Lazarus died, Jesus waited two more days and thereafter He says to His disciples: Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up. John 11:11
[As soon as the Holy Spirit dropped this scripture into my mind, I immediately could see the connection between Boker Tov & Shiva! I was in awe of the Holy Spirit!]
Now if Shiva is a 7days mourning counting from the day of the burial of a family member, then Mary and Martha were four (4)days into Shiva for Lazarus, when Jesus arrived. [i.e. 4 days gone and 3 days left…]
Yet on that fourth day of Shiva, Jesus arrived Bethany and awakened Lazarus.
Lazarus was brought back from the dead because Jesus called him forth; Jesus awakened him!
Therefore Shiva for us is a season of Awakenings. No longer a season of mournings! Hallelujah!!
The Lord is awakening us as one is awakened from the dead!
So that Shiva becomes BOKER TOV!
From death to life…
From night to dawn…
From mourning to rejoicing!
BOKER TOV! Welcome to a New Dawn!
