Check it out: 2 Corinthians 5: 14-17

The story is told of Martin Luther (not King) one day answering a knock at his door. “Does Dr. Martin Luther live here?” the man at the door asked. “No,” Luther answered, “he died. Christ lives here now.”

Today, I put everything aside and I tell you the truth – you died and the life you live is not yours. I’m not kidding, you died! For (as far as this world is concerned) you have died, and your (new, real) life is hidden with Christ (Colossians 3:3 Amp.). You died to YOU. It’s no more about you or that Range Rover Sport you want. Today I need you to be honest with yourself: what is your life all about? What exactly defines your life? If your identity, your joy, your reason for existence is anything other than Christ, then Jesus’ death is wasted on you. If the reason you get up to go to work each morning is not Christ, then of what purpose is the cross? And he died for all, so that all those who live might no longer live to and for themselves, but to and for him who died and was raised for their sake (2 Cor 5:15 Amp.). It is spiritual mediocrity to expend your life on yourself, to become the goal of your own life and the end-point of your own destiny. For most of us (including myself), our world revolves around us with Sunday breaks here and there for God. If your destination and the totality of your existence is not Christ, you’ve missed it. The moment you don’t live for God, you begin to live for something less than him – yourself, your work, your spouse, your kids, the latest fashion trend.

Christ is your life.

Matt 6:33 says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (KJV). Are you seeking God for all these things? Don’t be deceived, God is not a fool, He knows when he is not the endpoint. He’ll play your games for your sake but He is not fooled by your bargains. I once heard T.D Jakes say (and this is paraphrased): “Some of you make all these deals with God: ‘God, if you bless me, I’ll do this and that.’ God looks at you and smiles because there are other people who say: ‘God, if you never ever do anything for me, I will still love on you and praise you.’ These ones have become like Paul who said “For me, to live is Christ.” Ask yourself: “What on earth am I living for?”

Yours in love, MOI
