Something spectacular just happened! Moments ago, I read a mail from one of my fav subscriptions - It’s that simple by Mosadoluwa. Dolu shared about ‘answered prayers and the unopened door.’

She encouraged us to be like children when we pray, to keep one eye open in expectation for an answer to prayers. And not be like Apostle Peter’s friends who were praying for Peter’s release but somewhere in their hearts expected him to die at the hands of cruel judgment.

Rhoda goes to the praying battalion and says, “Peter is at the door.” And they go, “It must be his ghost!”

Hilarious isn’t it? In the end, Dolu concludes her piece by asking us the readers to do a little exercise. She said, “Get up right now, walk to a door, open it and say to yourself, “When God’s answer comes, I will not be surprised, I will open the door.”

I did it. In fact I opened two doors because the office where I was sitting as I read the mail, had two doors at the entrance with a short walk way in between both.

So I opened door number one, and then door number two and all the while reciting those words — “When God’s answer comes, I will not be surprised, I will open the door.”

Guess what happens next? I mean I musta had one eye open as I said that prayer. Eight minutes later, I received a GTBank alert! From a business strategy meeting  I attended 6 months ago.

A strategy meeting for a project that wasn’t approved. Six months later I am being compensated for contributing to a strategy that wasn’t executed. Awesome!!

My dear, wherever you are, you berra open some doors and recite that prayer. LOL

I know you get what I mean. Have faith. Pray with childlike expectation. Leave one eye open because you know an angel is about to ring your doorbell with a bucketful of answers.

And hey, when those answers come, remember to ask God in and offer him a drink. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude, I paid a 20% tithe immediately to say, “Lord have a double scotch!” Hehehe

James 1:6-8

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. - NIV
