Bonjour,
Bible scholars tell us that the original manuscripts of Matthew 7:7 goes, Ask, don’t stop asking and it will be given to you. Knock, don’t stop knocking and the door will be opened to you. Seek, don’t stop seeking and you will find.
If that is true, then I understand why the Bible says that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Which is to say He rewards those who do not stop but continue to seek Him.
This never ending longing for God is what God can not help but reward. A hunger and a thirst that He absolutely cannot ignore.
Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled.
Psalm 81:10 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
Little wonder, He promises the crown of life to those who persevere under trial because the proof of desire is pursuit. And unending pursuit does not come without a price. That price is the true test of our love for Him.
Therefore, because we love Him we pursue Him, and because we seek Him continuously, we endure the trials that come with this pursuit.
And for this reason, He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He is the rewarder of those who seek and do not stop seeking Him. So that the one who hungers and thirst for righteousness and the one who endures under trial are one and the same — they are Blessed of the Lord!
Hebrews 11: 6c … He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
Selah.
