Return to the water brook, to the place where still and calm usher thy feet
When worry threatens your peace
And fear troubles your calm
When darkness by stealth bothers around your path
And vanity presides where faith wanes
When scheming overwhelms your heart
And anxiety consumes your thoughts
Return to the water brook
To the place where still and calm usher thy feet
Where thou hast written victories of thy conquests
To that place where Heaven once kissed earth
A deliverance witnessed verily by thy own eyes
Of God’s unfailing love and mercy
Return therefore to the place of awesome memorial
To that stone which gave comfort to thy head
When thou laid down to rest from thy toilsome journey
Return to the place of thine solemn vows
To the stone of remembrance oh a reminder of thine deliverance
When trouble like a storm rocks my boat
Return to thy rest, oh my soul
For in time past God hath dealt graciously with me
Therefore, He will yet deliver me

Psalm 116:6-7 The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me. Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with me.
