The first thing to do is to remember intentionally.
Bonjour,
The word ‘remember’ for me is a cluster of meanings especially in this season of December. And I’ll like to say to us this morning, in “this December, truly try to Remember” because you have many reasons to be thankful. And when you do that you never know, you might in the process create a “December to Remember.” The first thing to do is to remember intentionally. Remember healing; nights you struggled with sickness and healing came. It may have come weeks or months later. It may have taken a year or more. But healing came. And you are here now reading this. Remember that and say thank you Jesus. Remember provision; the days of want and lack and even though they stretched, you got through it. And though slowly, you have come to learn that truly He gives us our daily bread. That He will never leave us nor forsake us and so He sends us help in many different ways through unexpected gifts, cancelled loans, unexpected visitors bearing gifts of just what we need. Remember liberation; the times you were hurt and slandered and cut open. And even when you didn’t want to heal because you felt happier shielded from the ones who bruised you, even then God sends help by lifting the burden and easing the weight and pouring healing balm upon you while you weren’t looking and suddenly, you let go. You forgive. You start over.
And maybe what you remember is loss. Maybe what you remember is pain. And maybe what you remember are questions and why God didn’t come through the doors you hoped He would come through. If this is where you are this December, I want you to remember that God can handle your disappointment. And He is making all things work out for the good of those who love Him. And because you love Him, He is quilting a grand comforter for you in this season. It is all in the design. Remember that. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
