Reignite the fire place!

Another meaning clustered in the word ‘remember’- just like December- is ember. Which means a small piece of burning or glowing coal in a dying fire. But in this case, I will like to think of re-ember to mean to re-ignite. Light the fire… Fan the coals back to life again.

Areas where you have fallen out of love. Spaces where unforgiveness is breeding and its poison is spreading. Places in your heart where the joints have shifted and the wires have disconnected; no life flow, no spark. Only the infection of untended wounds. Resentments. It is time to re-ember.

With the heat of the fire of God’s love coursing through us it is absolutely impossible for infection to breed. Therefore, waste no time; this December, re-m-ember. Oh, what treasure waits within our scars. Waste no time; this December, re-m-ember.

It is time for dry grounds that once bore streams to burst forth with springs. It is time to re-set the displaced joints and re-knot the wires again so that love can return and life can resume from where it last stopped. It is time for dead cells that once lived to revive. It is time for cold hearts that once vibrated with life to receive warmth.

It is time to love again; where words fail, give a kiss, a hug, and you would have said a thousand words. Say, I’m sorry. Say, I miss you. Say, thank you. Say, you mean a lot to me. Re-ignite the flames. Fan the coals again. Re-ember.

1 Peter 1:22 Now that you have purified yourself by obeying the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters, love one another deeply, from the heart.
