Be filled with awesome wonder of God.
Lately, I’ve been tried in many different ways and just last night after a major victory, as I meditated on what the Lord had done and how He did it… I heard it crystal clear — “Who is your daddy?!” Then I smiled in awe of God. I bowed in awesome wonder to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.
Sometimes, if not most times, waiting on the Lord to perform His Word can be an excruciating process. But it is all to one end - so that He can fill all things that concern you. He wants to fill ALL things! He wants a situation where, when you turn to the left or to the right, all you see are His finger prints and His foot prints.
He wants to fill you with awe of Him.
In all of your victories, He wants to laugh heartily at your shocking surprise. He wants to defeat your fears with the reverberating roar of His never-failing precious promises. And in the end of it all, at the climax of the show of His Mighty power, He wants to know for sure your rock of dependence. So He brags, “Who is your daddy?!”
‘Only You Lord!’ is my heart’s response. ‘Only You! No one but You Lord. You surpass them all.’ All the gods, all the kings, with all their horses and their mighty chariots… ‘You surpass them all.’
May you find a reason to declare that the Lord He is God. May you find a reason to be in awesome wonder of God in Jesus name! Amen.
1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
