Broken and Alive

I, recently, heard a brilliant and inspiring tale about crayons.

It goes, “whether whole or broken a crayon still gives color….”

The state of brokenness doesn’t diminish the ability of the crayon to give color.

In fact the broken edges tend to give a richer hue of color than the unbroken piece.

Our lives can be broken in many ways and we in turn can feel irrelevant

Thinking that we lack usefulness all together. Broken is not synonymous to lost.

That you are broken does not mean you are lost, out of sight,

And therefore out of mind.

Broken simply means having an uneven or rough surface,

To be fractured as a result of a blow, shock or strain.

Life deals us many blows every now and then

And the result usually is a brokenness.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, goes the saying

However, there is a brokenness that is revivifying

It is rich with color and rich with zest

It is much more alive than the overzealous,

Self-righteous molds we tend to fit in to most of the time

Allow God break you and use you

Just like Jesus was broken and given

So that we might have life everlasting

Luke 22:19 And He took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you.
