His ways are not our ways
He chooses the unlearned
He calls the unfitted one
He comes to the unworthy
He sends His servants to virgin lands
To unfamiliar grounds
He makes them princes among strangers
And a slave turns prime minister
He speaks through the stammerer
Conveys His message through the mute
Lacking eloquence
Unschooled in the mastery of speech
Yet the dumb turns orator
He brings water from the rock
Streams out of the dry earth
He hides wisdom in the uncomely
And uncovers mysteries through the rejected
He leads the illiterate to uncharted waters
He navigates the darkness with the untrained
He founds new territories by the scavenger
And builds civilizations with the hands of the weak
He hides gold in dirt
Buries diamond in the rocks
Covers gems with the desert dunes
And conceals treasures in the despondent
The one who seeks will find
The one that knocks will enter
The one who asks will have answers
His ways are not our ways
Let him that hath ears hear
Let the eyes be used to search out these treasures
Let every heart find understanding
Amen.
Psalm 19:7-14
The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.
By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
But who can discern their own errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
