Ridiculous questions!

Do you have plans for the week? Of course you do. Do you also have a budget for the month approaching? I’m guessing you do. Do you have new prospects of income to engage and explore? I’m certain a ton of us do. All of these plans, and budgeting and prospecting are necessary. Besides the bible says, ‘he that does not work, must not eat…’ So we plan, budget and prospect away! Except for one tinie-tiny bit. “Checking with Abba.” [You already said yes, you plan, budget and prospect] So one more question: Do you ask the Father before implementing a plan, setting a budget or chasing a prospect? Or do you plan, budget and prospect and then ask Him to bless it? Let me joggle your memory a moment. Can you remember Ziklag, after David’s camp had been invaded, there possessions stolen, their wives and children forcefully taken captive? What did David do? Did he plunge his men into an operation-retrieve-what-the-enemy-has-stolen strategy? Not quite so. After crying a pool of tears until there was no more strength to cry, the bible tells us that David prayed. And he asked the most ‘ridiculous’ question — Do I pursue, will I overtake? [Seriously??!!! Seriously David? You are still checking with God whether to go in pursuit of what is rightly yours? Seriously?!!] Isn’t that what your response would be if you were there. Heck, his men were ready to stone him to death! And that was even before he went down on his knees and prayed! I’ll like you to take a moment here and ask God. Check with Him. Present your plans et al to Him. Don;t ask Him to bless it. Ask Him if its okay. Say, “Father what will you have me do?” Go ahead ask lots of ridiculous questions! God’s wisdom is folly to a blind world. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. 1 Samuel 30:1-8 David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it, and had taken captive the women and everyone else in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way. When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. David’s two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him, and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
