So you have a dream about the ideal life. You have it all beautifully drawn out, yet everything in your reality is tilting in a different direction. Instead of adjusting your seat belt and taking on the wheels of this machine called your life, you are busy waiting for scenery to change. Waiting for carnations and roses to grow out of your backyard garden even though you’ve been told that the climate is not supportive. When are we going to wake up and embrace our lives and live each moment with fulfillment and purpose. The grass is always greener on the other side. We always want greener. We refuse to believe that our green is all the green we have. We keep beating ourselves up in the search of greener. We see greener next door, therefore greener must be available somewhere for us.
My thoughts today:
Really? Can we actually take hold of the wheels of our lives and direct it in the way it should go? I don’t agree. I don’t think so. Why? Because there is a way that seems right to a man but the end of it leads to death. My husband once said to me: “You know what our problem is? Our problem is control. We want to have control over everything that happens in our lives but that control is what God wants us to surrender…” Are you willing to surrender it all to Him? We cannot be the driver of our lives. We will crash. Give it all to Jesus. Surrender all. I surrender all. Say it and mean it.
Proverbs 14:13 There is a way that men think is right and its ways are the ways of death. — Aramaic in Plain English Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not (do not depend) on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path. — from memory.
