I woke up at about past 1am thinking of countless things God has done for me and in my meditation I found myself saying, “Lord, I love You for all You’ve done. What can I do to express my love for You, to show You I am grateful for all You do?”
There is something we too can do
Then my heart began to search the scriptures from within and an answer came to me, if you love Me, keep My commandments... If you love Me, feed My sheep.
Another scripture came to my mind.
“As for everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When the flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears My words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” Luke 6:47-49
The preceding line in verse 46 says clearly to us, “Why do you call me, “Lord, Lord,” and do not do what I say?
Personally, I believe that to keep His commandments is to do what He says. And He has commanded us to love, to forgive, to judge not, to not condemn, to fear not, to feed His sheep…
The Bible is full of the Lord’s command and if we say we love Him, we will do as He has commanded us.
